• Parent/guardian email address (via Google sign-in)
• Parent/guardian name (from Google profile)
• Child's first name (entered by parent)
• Reading partner names and email addresses (when invited)

Reading Data

• Books added to the family library
• Reading progress and completed chapters
• Reading streaks and achievements
• Rewards created and redeemed

Device Information

• Camera access (only when scanning book barcodes, images are not stored)

How We Use Your Information

• To provide the reading tracking service
• To send optional email notifications (streak reminders, daily digests)
• To allow reading partners to view progress and send messages

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Your family's reading data is only shared with reading partners you explicitly invite. We use the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth for authentication
• Resend for sending email notifications

Children's Privacy

Louis Book Club is designed for family use. Children access the app using a simple PIN set by their parent, without creating their own accounts. We collect minimal information about children (first name only) and this is controlled entirely by the parent/guardian.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and regular database backups.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
